Breathe in the spirituality of this thousand-year old abbey, an enchanting site and one of the rare surviving Benedictine complexes in the North of France. You cannot fail to admire the superb, remarkably preserved monastic architecture of Saint-michel, the organ built by Jean Boizard in 1714, the mural paintings in the cloister, and the old abbey farm, now home to a museum of rural and forest life (Musée de France).

Festival of medieval, Renaissance, and baroque music at the Abbey of Saint-Michel en Thiérache June/ July
Saint-Michel Abbey stages its own festival of baroque song and music. Renowned musicians and also upcoming talents feature in a sensational programme in an outstanding venue.
