From high on its rocky spur, the ruined castle of Coucy is massive. Let guides in period costume tell you the history of this impressive historic monument! Medieval fairs, historic reconstruction, sound and light shows… Don’t miss the many events that regularly revive the life of the castle.

A short walk: in the shade of the ramparts
On the plateau at Coucy stand the ruins of a gigantic castle. The fortress was the legendary home and pride of these powerful medieval lords. In the shade of the ramparts, set out on an adventure! Like the most gallant knights, set out to find the hidden treasures of the lords of Coucy. Your valiant young squires will lead the way on this illustrated crusade.

Distance: 2 km (1¼ miles)

Events :

Coucy A la Merveille - June/July
Every Friday and Saturday evening in July, over 350 volunteers, actors, technicians and extras combine their talents to bring you an outstanding adventure: play a part in this war between father and son, united by a blood bond but separated by the wiles of a wicked woman.

A grandiose production in a sumptuous setting, with stunning effects that combine magic, plot and treachery.

As a curtain raiser, visitors discover the Middle Ages through a range of events like the craftsmen’s village, the king’s camp, tournaments, fire-eaters and more.

At nightfall, comfortably seated on the terraced gallery, enjoy the “Apocalypse”, a 3-hour spectacular.

From 05/09 to 30/04, daily from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and from 2:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
