Cyclovilles® come to Saint-Quentin

Alain Renaudin, a 45 year old resident of Saint Quentin, decided to launch this project after losing his job in sales and marketing. “What attracted me to this business was the contact with people and the fact that it fits in with my environmental beliefs.” The Cycloville franchise was created in 2006 in Lille and was already present in the cities of Toulouse, Pau, Bordeaux and Colmar before coming to the Aisne.
Alain purchased 2 bikes at a cost of 8,500 €uros each and has just engaged his first employee. Revenue will come from transporting passengers and from advertising. The hoods of his bikes frequently take on the colours/slogans of private advertisers.
Each bike can transport up to 2 adults and one child. Average speed is 15 km per hour and an electrically powered motor can be used for difficult stretches (e.g. uphill). The Cycloville is silent and non polluting, earning itself the designation “high quality eco-friendly urban transport”. Even the electricity it uses is ‘green’ (produced by windmills or solar panels).
A number of tourist routes can be taken. Go for a town tour which includes all the major tourist sites of Saint-Quentin or escape to the rural peace of the Marais d’Isle. Town mouse or country mouse, there is something for you! Your driver will be happy to provide a commentary during your trip. It costs 8 €uros/half an hour and 13 €uros/hour – great value for an enjoyable outdoor experience!
