SOISSONS
With its spires which pierce the sky at a height of over 75m, the abbey is often mistaken for the cathedral. Founded in the 11th century, this abbey was one of the richest of the Middle-Ages. From this building, you can only see the beautiful frontage as well as the intact monk's refectory, cloister and outbuildings.
The Centre d'Interprétation de l'Architecture et du Patrimoine is located in the entirely restored former abbot's lodging. On the edges of a translucent layout with an extremely decorative effect in the Saint-Jean-des-Vignes Abbey, these explanatory signs provide the keys to understanding the town and its heritage.
