A new museum gallery, on the site of St Jean- des-Vignes, devoted to exhibitions of contemporary art. The Arsenal and adjoining powder store are witnesses to the military occupation of St Jean-des-Vignes in the 19th century. Now partly rehabilitated into a gallery for temporary exhibitions, the Arsenal houses exhibitions leaning toward contemporary creation, as well as concerts within the framework of the Musée/Musique programme. It hosts educational activities relating to the current exhibitions, as well as workshops organised by the Heritage Department. Its gradual rehabilitation should help create a true cultural site focused on archeology, architectural heritage and contemporary creation
