Housed in a 19th-century mansion, in a totally renovated setting, the Alexandre Dumas museum retraces the life and works of the three Dumas : General Dumas, born in San Domingo in 1762; his son Alexandre Dumas, the renowned author of The Three Musketeers, born in Villers-Cotterêts in 1802, and his grandson Alexandre, born in Paris in 1824, who wrote La Dame Aux Camelias. The museum houses a great number of original documents, letters, manuscripts, autographs and first editions.
